The film

Thirty seconds, start to finish.

Every step you’ll take, from typing a postcode to ticking off your first planting. Pick a chapter to jump straight to it.

How it works

From postcode to plan, in one sitting.

Six steps, each one a real screen. The first four are free, and none of them asks you to make an account.

01Discover

See who is already living around you.

Start with a postcode. Miome shows the garden-using species recorded near you, and which of them a garden like yours could realistically support.

  • Free, and no account needed
  • Nearby records, not promises

02Tell us

Start from the garden you have.

It doesn’t need to be tidy. Tell Miome roughly how much space there is and how much sun it gets, then tick what’s already there: the hedge, the lawn, the borders, the bird bath.

  • Soil only if the local maps are unsure
  • “Not sure” is a fine answer

03Tell us what matters

A garden has to work for the people in it too.

Five short steps. Who uses the garden, how far you’re up for going, what you’d love it to become, how it should feel, and what’s realistic for your budget and your weekends.

  • Children, dogs and washing lines included
  • The ecological goal is kept; the route adapts

04Free diagnosis

What’s working. What’s missing.

Miome weighs your garden, the local wildlife and the seasons together, then tells you plainly what your garden already does well, where its biggest gaps are, and which species it could suit with the right changes.

  • Seasonal gaps, found across the whole year
  • Your single biggest opportunity, named

05Your garden plan

The smallest changes that close the biggest gaps.

The Garden Pack is everything you need to actually do it: which plants, how many, where each one goes, a good alternative if something is out of stock, and where to buy locally.

  • A one-off purchase, not a subscription
  • A season-by-season timeline

Then watch it come alive.

Tick changes off as you go: planted, bought, already had one. What you tell Miome makes next year’s plan better, and each season it tells you what to look out for.

  • Plant passports and care reminders
  • A wildlife logbook for what turns up

The science

Rigour you can check.

A beautiful garden and a garden that supports wildlife are usually sold separately, and one of them is usually a claim nobody can support. Miome says “could support”, never “will attract”.

  1. 01

    Every species has one identity

Each plant and animal is keyed to its UK Species Inventory Taxon Version Key. Names are matched once, carefully, and never guessed at again.

  2. 02

Every wildlife claim is a count

“Known to support 23 species” is a query result from a biotic interaction graph fed by pollinator and occurrence records. It is not a sentence someone wrote.

  3. 03

    Ecology ranks. Commerce follows.

What Miome suggests is decided by ecology alone. Which nursery sells it is a separate layer that the ranking never sees.
